Second only to childhood dreams of being a Princess, is it not every woman’s dream to be on the front cover of a magazine? Well… I have made my modeling debut on the cover of the September issue of The Searcher Magazine, sporting a neutral mismatching camouflage outfit designed by the US Military, and accessorized with my Etrac by Minelab.
Why that photo?
I wrote a piece for The Searcher about Detecting and Camouflage, and was asked for a photo of me in camouflage to accompany the story. Because I have a pet peeve with guys who wear mis-matching camo (yes guys, women wouldn’t do that), I submitted the photo of me wearing a mis-matching camo outfit entitled Mismatching Camo–Confusing wildlife one clashing pattern at a time to Assistant Editor, John Winter as a joke, and I had no idea it would end up on the front cover. Perhaps I am not the only one with that pet peeve?

If you don’t subscribe to The Searcher Magazine, you’re missing out. The magazine has field tests, news, articles about finds, product reviews, identifications, etc… And don’t let the fact that its published in the UK deter you, the articles are relevant to all detectorists, no matter where they are located. You can order a subscription online at http://www.thesearcher.co.uk
Allyson … what can I say!
At the risk of being sexist can I say that you model the camouflage gear better than any male swinger. Thank you for bringing a little class to the magazine. Now, for your next article ….
I agree John….mis-matched camo or not. Great photo…attractive gal.
And I agree with Allyson….the Searcher is one great magazine.
